When you think of a vacation beach villa on an Island like St. John, you think of a basic house that has bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens and a bath every now and again. But when you look at Beach Garden Villa, the only word that comes to mind is; decadent. What a marvelous villa to spend a vacation in! The entire villa is air conditioned and feels marvelous in the hot summer months!
We were three couples in this large 4 bedroom 4 ½ bath villa. We couldn't have been more comfortable. And there was plenty of space for us all. There were times when we didn't see the other couples for an hour or so. It is isolated enough so you don't have any noise from neighboring villas, or the Pond Bay Condos that are being built on the North end of Chocolate Hole.
Each of the bedrooms are fairly equal in size and decor. There are two on the second floor and two on the first floor. The two facing East have an ocean (Chocolate Hole) view, and the two facing the other direction have a garden view. All four bedrooms are spacious and well appointed with attached bathrooms/ showers. The two upstairs bedrooms have outside showers. The one facing the water has a shutter enclosed outside shower, and the garden view bedroom has a real "outside" shower. It is literally outside the villa.
The kitchen is very well appointed, with a Viking Range with six burners. We created some spectacular meals on that stove. There is a large refrigerator, oven and microwave. The bar is very well stocked (be sure you do your part to keep it that way). The laundry room is behind the kitchen, well out of sight and in good working order.
Up on the second floor is the pool deck, covered gazebo with a couch and coffee table, and a trellis covered dining table. We spent a lot of time out there on that deck, in the pool, and lounging on the couch in the gazebo. At the far end of the deck are stairs that lead down to the first floor kitchen entrance as well as a path that leads to the small man made sandy beach with easy entry into the water for snorkeling. In the hallway that opens to the pool deck is a wet bar and fridge for keeping ice and beer (or wine) cold.
Lisa and Vacation Vistas are wonderful to work with. There was never an issue or concern that wasn't immediately addressed by her or Stevie. A great big shout out to both of these folks! I could go on for another two or three pages, but this is a villa that has to be experienced to be appreciated fully. It is a value well worth the money to rent. We would rent it again in a heart beat.
This is a perfect vacation villa on St. John. So much so, that we had trouble sometimes leaving to visit the great beaches of the island!

Beach Garden Villa is
a phenomenal house with a perfect location on St John. It is in a very
private spot on beautiful Chocolate Hole yet less than 10 min from town.
The location on Chocolate Hole provided for great snorkeling right off
of the beach 100 ft from the house. The reef directly opposite of the
house on the other side of the bay provided snorkeling that was better
than some of the North Shore beaches. There were schools of bright reef
fish, eels, lobster, rays and many turtles. This was an unexpected luxury.
The view from the pool deck out over the open ocean and was wonderful
and there was always a nice breeze.
The house itself was luxurious and well appointed. All of the furniture
and artwork was beautiful. The kitchen was outfitted with everything
you would need to cook just about anything. The beds were extremely
comfortable and had wonderful soft linens. The lily pond on the 1st
floor with its fountain was a great backdrop to all of the time spent
in the great room and was visited everyday by iguanas and humming birds.
The house had many dramatic touches like the coral and wood floors that
made it seem like an upscale resort hotel. The outdoor shower was wonderful
and all the bathrooms were large and dramatic. On the pool deck the
blue glass tiled pool was beautiful and the many sitting areas were
a perfect place to relax both in the sun and shade.
I have rented many houses/villas and this house is at the top of the
list for location and amenities. We certainly plan on returning.

Just returned from St John last week. Yes, we were there during hurricane Omar, the last flight into St Thomas and the last ferry over to St John before the hurricane made landfall. Luckily, St John wasn't in the eye of the storm and didn't endure much damage.
First off I would like to comment on how accommodating Vacation Vistas/Lisa was during the hurricane threat because Lisa was worried that Beach Garden Villa probably wasn't the best place to be during the hurricane, with our safety her #1 concern - she put all 8 of us up in a room at the Westin for two nights, not skimping on any of the luxuries we may have expected while staying at the villa. As soon as the hurricane had passed Wed night/early Thurs morning, she had the villa ready for us by noon Thursday.
Upon our arrival to the villa, all 8 of us were pleasantly surprised at how lucky we were to be staying at such a lovely place during our vacation! This house is absolute luxury and has beautiful views of Chocolate Hole. Each bedroom with private bathroom all being equally luxurious, was perfect for our party of 4 couples. We found ourselves spending most of our time on the deck enjoying the views of Chocolate Hole and cooling off in the nice pool. Lisa checked in on us occasionally throughout our stay to confirm our stay was pleasant.
I wouldn't hesitate to book another vacation through Vacation Vistas in the future and definitely hope to have the opportunity to stay at the Beach Garden Villa again. Thumbs Up for Vacation Vistas and the Beach Garden Villa!
