It's been awhile since last visited this stunning St. John island...and..the
most memorable Villa..."Argonauta" in 2002,,They have updated
and it's even more gorgeous from when I remembered driving down the
driveway and in total "awe"...pinch me..was our reaction
when first vieweing Argonauta...I see..it's even more awe inspiring...
The best....
I see they added a hot tub..All
I can say..this Villa, you can't beat the privacy..the views "stunning"..a
5 star villa..
I hope one day to return...Gorgeous
villa..
I'd like to be a "rep"
for these owners in the states for I would hightly recommend it...wouldn't
ever stay anywhere else..location,location,location..
This "villa" has it all...They
take pride in their home and once there, one doesn't want to leave...it's
breathtaking...

This villa was so wonderful that I almost don't want to post a review
for fear that next time we want to rent it, it will be booked.
First, Vacation Vistas is amazing
to deal with! This was our second time renting from them with other
companies in between, and I definitely like dealing with Lisa and
KD. One of the things I like about renting from Vacation Vistas is
that they don't clear out everything previous renters left behind
so be sure to check what's stocked already before heading to the store
(including liquor).
We used all four of the bedrooms
with our group. The two in the pod that are not connected to the house
are probably my favorites. The one on the main floor of the house
has to share a bathroom with anyone that doesn't want to go back to
their rooms which wasn't really a problem for our group.
It was nice to have a/c in the
main house. That was definitely a luxury that we did use as we were
there in June.
The pool was smaller than all of
the pools we have had at other villas but it was good enough for our
purposes as we mainly used it to hang out in and have drinks while
enjoying the beautiful views.
Speaking of views...the views are
excellent from Argonauta. It faces out towards St. Thomas and is at
the point so you don't have a bunch villas between you and the water.
That was one of the things I really liked about it's location.
The other thing I REALLY liked
is that it is so close to town yet doesn't feel that way at all. It
feels very remote but you are in town in no time at all.
The only downfall in my opinion
was the driveway. There really isn't room to turn around a car so
whenever we returned to the villa, we carefully backed down the driveway.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Those of us that have been to St. John several times and have even
stayed in a luxury villa in Catherineburg voted it our favorite villa
because of all of the above mentioned things.

Hi Folks!
I am looking for a villa that has 3 king/queen beds (each with it's
own bath), air in the bedrooms, a pool, a hot tub, and around the
Choc. Hole area or North Shore. Anyone have any suggestions?

Try Argonauta. www.vacationvistas.comWe stayed at Argo in May and
loved it! 4 bedrooms, all king with private bath and AC. The whole
house actually has AC. Pool, hot tub, wet bar and half bath by pool.
Awesome views. We had three couples and this villa was perfect. Lisa
at Vacation Vistas is a pleasure to work with too!

Bug - I can second Argonauta as it has been our favorite villa so
far and our favorite location.
The main house has full a/c as do all of the bedrooms. The views are
unobstructed and our favorite on that side of the island. They face
out towards STT, and it's out on the point. It is soooo close to town,
yet you do not feel that way because there are not alot of villas
around you.
If you have any questions or want to know more, pm me.

p.s. we liked it better than Hakuna
Matata on the North Shore and that says alot.

Today is our first day back from Argonauta (so sad!). Argonauta is
awesome - pool, hot tub and great sunset views. The full AC was nice
although I think it spoiled the newbies in our group. We highly recommend
Argo - we rented through Lisa at Vacation Vistas.

We have stayed in Argonauta 5 or 6 times. It's our favorite house
on St. John !!! We reserve it a year in advance to get the time we
want. (we stay for 10 or 11 days).
The main house has the master BR & Loft. Each floor has a bathroom.
The stairs to the loft is a spiral staircase. Dangerous for small
children or drunks in my opinion.
The upper BR in the "pod" has a regular entrance door on
the same level as the main house. It also has a screened covered deck
area with a beautiful view but no stairs to pool level and of course
a full bath. The lower level BR entrance is sliding glass doors on
the pool level ( and full bath).
All BR's have king size beds and A/C. There is a small safe in the
upper pod BR.
Besides the pool, there is also a hot tub, washer & dryer, 1/2
bath and wet bar.
The view is one of the best on St. John. Rainbows in the mornings
and beautiful sunsets over St. Thomas at night.

There are screens in all the windows and we have never had a problem
with bugs. Just a little lizard from time to time.

Argonauta is a 4 bedroom villa and has spectacular views. It has views
of St. Thomas, on a clear night you can see St. Croix. The furnishing
are nice. We rented through Vacation Vistas, specifically, Lisa Durgin,
who is so helpful. The beds are so comfortable with spectacular views.
It has a private pool and spa as well as a wet bar. Stayed there the
past two years and will be staying there May 2006! Arlene

Argonuata is a lovely 4-bedroom house with unobstructed views over
Pillsbury Sound to St. Thomas. The kitchen is recently updated with
granite counters, bar stool seating, a gas stove, and a large, well
powered fridge.
Argonauta is surrounded be expansive decking, all covered and outfitted
with outdoor fans. Generous seating is available in multiple locations
on the deck--from chairs to hammocks.
The pool area is equipped with a wet bar, stereo, and lots of shady
umbrellas. Updated laundry facilities are on pool level.
Each bedroom is different. In the main pod, there are two: one bedroom
is reached via a spiral staircase. There is a nice view and a full
bath if you can handle the stairs (very steep!). The second bedroom
(also with full bath) is behind the kitchen, with no view, but opens
directly onto the main deck, so is best for anyone in your party with
mobility issues. **new screened doorway gives a bit of view and glass
mirrored closets make it much brighter**
The best bedroom is in the seperate "sleeping" pod, across
the way from the main living pod. This bedroom has two sides of glass
doors overlooking Pillsbury Sound and Great Cruz Bay, as well as wrap
around decking. A full bath (with ocean views from the shower) is
behind this bedroom. A fourth bedroom is below this bedroom, opening
directly onto pool level.
Argonauta is beautifully landscaped, with multiple mature flowering
plants/trees. There's also lots of privacy. It's a wonderful villa,
you will definitely enjoy yourself if you stay here. liamsaunt
